Well although you're smart enough to know if you bought a box saying PRO on it, for the sake of it, what brand was it?

The best way would be to check clock speeds. There are tons of programs to do that, and you can be pretty sure then if the 9800 is a PRO or not. Non-pro if it runs at 310/325.

No, the NP runs at 325/290. Pro runs at 380/340.

Stop asking people "whats up" or "hows it goin", you know you don't give a sh*t. And noone cares how you're doing either.

Seriously?

That is odd. Yeah I just checked ATi's site. But why in the world does it perform the same as a 9700PRO, when it has no extra per-clock performance except in AA/Aniso?

yeah its at 325 eng/290 mem guess XP reports all 9800 as pros and I was also disappointed that it did not have the samsung mem.. it had the inferion or how ever you spell it

but hey $240 at best buy I thinks its an ok deal..

oh yeah and its a ATI card. not a powered by version

So you got an OEM one, right? (as in without a real brand box)

Yes but it's a white box, not one with an ATi logo, layout, image and all, right?

I don't think it's an OEM board if he got it at Best Buy. I picked up the same card at Best Buy (price $249), full retail box.

Haven't cracked it open yet to see what kind of memory it has. My brother bought the same card from Best Buy (in another state) and he got the Infineon RAM (or as better stated earlier, the "Inferion" RAM).

Um I thought ATi did not sell 9800s boxed, only 9800PROs, like the 9700s.

The only difference between the Pro and Non-Pro are the clockspeeds (and often the memory). The driver can't detect what clockspeed the card runs at, so they are both reported as a Pro by the driver.

Well I havn't been to Best Buy lately but I remember reading about ATIs market plan. Ur right they didnt used to sell the 9700 NPs retail box, u couldn't get em in retail stores at all. But I remember reading that they WERE going to sell the 9800 (non-pros), to fill the Price gap (9600Pro --> 9800 Pro). I know they don't sell any white-box stuff at Best Buy though.
