I just bought a new hard drive and my computer is not working what do i do?

Hello,
i had a hard drive give out on my so i went to frys to get a new one, and every time i try to start my computer it keeps saying disk fail.. i don't know what to do.. can you please help me..

Did you saw in the BIOS your hard drive?
is your jumper well set (if PATA HDD)?
Did you hear it turn whenb you power up?

Take the drive back to Frye's and have them test it for you. Make sure you know the drive is good before you start to troubleshoot your system.
