Also if more than 1, if i install it on my moms pc (shes on win 7) will she have to format her hdd to upgrade to win8?

It should say in the desrtion where you bought it from and also windows 7 should be fine for your mother.

One license key for Windows can be used on one PC at a time. If it's a retail license, it can be transferred from one PC to another but this will De-activate Windows on the older installation.

They had what they called "family packs"

Just opened it up. Says nothing in the stupid booklet they give you about using the tiles. Must be in the fine print when installing. Thanks guys!
