Question I just got a new pc, I can go into the BIOS but I can't change any settings

Hi everyone I just got a new pc (HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF PC) and I wanted to turn on virtual technology but for some reason I can't. I restart I enter the password 3 times, and I choose English...I go to System Security and I try to turn on VT-x (Virtual Technology) but still can't. I try to use the arrows, the numlock thing, I try ctrl and other stuff and I still can't change it can anyone help me with this issue?

Cpu is Intel Core 2duo E8500 3.16ghz 64-bit. Is there a way to unlock it?
