I just got my new PC, the monitor will be a while yet, can I use my working laptop as a monitor so I can set up my PC?

New HP Envy just arrived, monitor coming in a few weeks, Envy has Win8. I have a laptop, Toshiba Satellite L655 with Win7. Can I connect these, I have no VGA cables, and use the laptop as a monitor to get things set up?

There is no way to use the laptop as a monitor as it lacks a video input (output only). Sorry.

Does your TV have HDMI? If you are talking about the Envy desktop like this one, it should have an HDMI out port. If your TV has HDMI, you can use it as a display.

Thank you for such quick replies, I will wait for the shipment to come, just very excited and want to start setting it up. I have no TV, do not watch TV.
