I just bought a new Ryzen 5 2600X and I installed it into an MSI B350 Tomahawk, and now every time I start the PC, all of the lights in the PC will flicker. The CPU is good, I tested it, but the screen won't turn on and the lights are all flickering. I think it might be a power issue, but everything was plugged in until it clicked, and I have no idea what it could be. It doesn't just turn off, it'll stay on until I turn off only when I switch off the PSU. I have enough power for the whole PC with an 850W PSU. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
What brand and model is that 850W PSU?

Have you updated BIOS? did you reset CMOS when you did? you might do that anyway as it can help with other things, some even you may not have gotten to yet.

But more to the point of flickering: check and re-seat all the connectors to the motherboard and to other parts, especially the PSU, GPU, drives, RGB or fan control hubs, etc. It's not uncommon to accidentally tug on one, leaving it a bit loose when poking around inside doing things like unseating a cooler and CPU to change either.

It's an EVGA 850gq, and I have reset CMOS with the two prongs on the motherboard. I don't know how to update BIOS until I can get the computer to boot to it. But I'll just retry everything and see what happens. Thanks for the help!

You will have to install a 1st gen ryzen CPU, to update the bios, if said board is on a bios revision, lower than what is required, for that CPU.

I saw something online about that, but when I put my old Ryzen 3 1200 back in, it was still flashing when I turned it on. I think a cord might be loose or unplugged that I've completely forgotten about.
