I just took advantage of that 8800 Ultra deal, is 450 W PSU enough?

cutting it VERY close..

Here's The Minimum System Requirements:

1GB of system memory

CD or DVD-ROM driver

100MB of available hard disk drive space for basic driver installation

Microsoft Windows Vista or XP operating system

PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0-compliant system motherboard with one vacant PCI Express x16 slot

One vacant add-in card slot below the PCI Express x16 slot. This graphics card physically occupies two slots

450W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 24A or more (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor)

Two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors

$180 for an 8800 Ultra? Sounds good, if you think it was $800 a year ago. Sound bad, if you think that the $150 HD 4850 is faster. Well, anyway, it's a good card and good bang for the buck at this price. My BFG 8800 GTX OC2 is about the same speed and it's still doing just fine at 1680x1050.

The NeoHE 430W has 32A combined. It should be fine.

Lol- I'm a tool.

I actually have a 550 W NeoHe. Brain cramp.

I should read my own specs I guess.

Yeah 1680x1050 is what I'm looking at.

Great deal on the card. Where did you get that for that price?

Im thinking about filling my last slot on my 780i mobo. I have two 8800GTX ANS3 cards already. I know the Ultra is slightly faster but I dont think I can find my matching card for that price and its fine with me if it dumbs down the speed a little, its not enough to worry about anyway.

I have a corsair 750 watt psu, it may be cutting it close running 3 of these cards.
What do you guys think?

Thanks.

I've never owned an absolutely top-of-the-line card and I guess that trumped getting a new midrange card (which probably would have been smarter in the long run).

8800 Ultra is a great upgrade from 8800 GTS 320 as far as I can tell.

Big jump in benches and game smoothness (especially).

One bit of weirdness -

Every so often at the desktop I get a freeze and a black screen. It happens every 10-20 minutes, usually for less than a second and hasn't affected anything else. This never happened with the 320, and it hasn't happened during a game yet with the Ultra.

Is that a 8800 Ultra glitch? Anything to be worried about?

I wouldn't think much about it but I've been playing around with the Ultra for at least 5 hours now and it keeps happening.
