I just want two monitors! Help?

So, I am not tech savvy at all but I had a home office with two working monitors on a little Lenova thin client. When I was laid off, my employer only wanted the Lenova terminal back so I got to keep the two monitors. I didn't disconnect anything but the vga cable (one), mouse, speakers, and keyboard.

I attached the VGA cable to my Toshiba Satellite C55t laptop. I can get one monitor to work but the second monitor isn't detected. The second monitor is connected to the first monitor via a DVI-D Single Link cable. That's how it always was.

So, my question is how do I get the other monitor to be recognized? What am I doing wrong? It's probably something simple but I really have no clue. My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 8400. The driver is up to date. TIA!

Please list the exact mfg. and model of monitors. I know you can daisy chain with DP but didn't think you could with DVI. Curious.

Ugh. I think I figured it out. My graphics card can only support 2 monitors and the darn laptop display is one of those (OBVIOUSLY). Sorry all! I would have deleted this if I could figure out how. lol

The monitors are acer a193s - both of them.

How long ago did you get them, roughly?

I think the back says they were manufactured in June 2009. They are actually Acer B193 B. The front logo says A but the serial # sticker say B.
