This isn't even much of a question. I'm just here to explain what happened and hope I'm just wrong. So, I built my PC back in July of 2014, and I recently purchased an i5-4690k. In fact, it showed up today. I was really stocked, since I just bought a $240 processor. I've been wanting it for a while. Keep in mind, I'm only 15. I can't work anywhere locally, I can't drive, this money took a long time to acquire. Well, I found out it isn't compatible with my motherboard. My mother board has a slot for the CPU where pins are inserted in, while the i5 doesn't have pins on it. I was pretty bummed out and had to spend the rest of my money on a new motherboard. Before taking out my old CPU (AMD), I flipped the switch on my power supply, and unplugged it. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing to do, but I did it. I also damaged the USB3.0 slot in my motherboard, leaving me unable to plug in the cord. I just wasn't being causious. So I am waiting for my motherboard (arriving in two business days) now, but when I assembled everything back together (put my old CPU in and leaving the USB3.0 slot unplugged), I plugged in my PSU, flipped the switch to on, pressed the power button on the front of my case and... Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even my PSU came on. I don't know if the PSU doesn't come on when the USB3.0 is broken, or if I damaged my motherboard, and it doesn't work anymore. I don't know. I'm really depressed at the moment since I expected to still have $80 of walking around money and had to spend it. I know that my power button is connected to my motherboard and the motherboard may be damaged so it's just a motherboard issue, or do I need to buy a new PSU? Also, if the motherboard sustains damage while my GPU is connnected and my memory is in, will that harm my GPU, Memory, Hard Drives, etc. I'm really lost and am unaware of whether I ruined my PC or I just need to plug in my new motherboard. I just need any guidance. Anyone who can dedicate an hour or so in helping me. I just need to talk to someone and have them guide me on what to do. Any help on this thread is amazing. Please let me know if I will be $1000 in debt. I have school so the best time to contact me is 6-7 AM and 3-10 PM (I live in California). I could PM anyone my Skype or anything to talk on if they could walk me through multiple steps. I'm kind of a noob so I don't know everything and may need guidance. I can't thank any of you guys enough.
