When putting a system together and turning it on for the first time you;

1. Go into BIOS
2. Disable onboard sound ( I have a sound card)
3. Make SSD ( Have one) boot drive or save changes go out of BIOS and put in Windows disc to allow Windows to be loaded onto SSD first?

After this; is it, Chipset, intel controller drivers, Ethernet, and bascically everything on MB disc (but chipset is first?)

Most motherboards will default to onboard sound and if you have a sound card; this equals no sound until the onboard sound is disabled. An example would be my motherboard that Im replacing. I had speakers in the sound card but was updating BIOS and loading defaults undid the disabling. Next time I turned on my system, I had no sound. When I went back to BIOS and disabled it; my sound was back.

ilysami, yes, thank you, forgot. Previous board defaulted to AHCI. Manual for new board doesnt say anything about AHCI....it might be auto-enabled but will check.
