i know nothing about 2D

Hey,
I am building a pc for myself, and using a ga-8inxp. Since i am waiting for the FX, and my dad wants a computer for later this year, I am planning on buying a good 2d graphics card to use in my ga-8inxp. When the geforce FX comes out, i will put that in my computer instead. The good 2d card will then go to my dad so that he can work on his photoshop projects.

I have no idea what a good 2d graphics card is, or where to get one. Any suggestions?

the GeForce FX is a very good 2d card

In the professional domain, Matrox cards count at the best graphiccards for desktop work (2D). Maybe you want to get a G550 or a Parhelia but the GeForce FX will surely the same level of desktop quality...

In the 2d domain, the list goes Matrox, then ATI then nVidia. Matrox's lead over ATI is slim, but they both lead nVidia by quite a large margin.
