But is a clothing drawer a good and sturdy place to put a case on top of?

I guess it depends on the drawer, but yeah, the ones I have are just as sturdy as a desk.

not really in most case, as they are top heavy. and usually requires an anchor to ensure that it doesn't fall.

If placed upright and you live in an earthquake-prone area, then I'd say no. Too unstable.

If placed on its side with rubber feet or no-slip pads, and there are no earthquakes where you live, and it's a low-traffic area so nobody is likely to knock it off, then I'd say go for it.

If the ground in the room tends to be dusty, the up on a dresser might actually be better than on the floor.

Well I mean, I already did it after hearing some of the first replies on the thread, and it seems to be ok so far. I don't live in an area prone to natural disasters so I think It should be pretty safe. But ok, I'll take this into consideration.

My floor is a carpet, so I think anywhere is better than putting it on the floor.

^ So is mine, my system rests on a length of shelving. Cut and painted black, it looks just like an extension of the case and keeps dust out of the system very well.
