My pc spec`s are:

Motherboard : Evga X58 Classified 4-way SLI.
Cpu: Intel Core i7 Extreme 980X 3.33Ghz.
Memory: Corsair Vengeance (3x2GB) 1600Mhz CL7 (Model:CMT6GX3M3A1600C7).
Graphic: Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 GDDR5 1.5Gb (used to have 2xGTX 580 SLI)
Power supply: Corsair 1000W
Case: Cooler Master HAF X Full Tower.

I`m also up for more improvments for my pc.
Thank you.

That's a triple channel motherboard, so no 8gb lol. As for improvements, first do you have an SSD? If not, that's your first improvement. The thing is, that motherboard cost more because of the SLI options, it's kind of sad to run one videocard on it. On the other hand, new videocards which are SLI compatible would be held back by your CPU, so it's kind of a waste of money.

Of course you could look into getting a new motherboard/CPU/ram, but now we're talking getting a new computer not upgrading the one you have. So an SSD and a 1060(for 1080p gaming) would get my vote.

I forgot to say something about my hdd`s, my mistake. The HDD`s are:
-> Intel SSDA2M080G2GC.
-> ST750LX003-1AC154.
-> WDC WD3000HFS-01G6U0.

About my SLI option. I was using 2 way SLI GTX 580, but it seems i`m getting bsod`s from nvidia kernel. I tryed some solutions to solve this problem because i wanted to keep using both of the video cards, but i believe they are too old and they cant sustain a modern video game.
PS: I`m getting bsod only when i`m playing a game.

Regarding the memory, i`m thinking to buy 3x8GB RAM (my motherboard supports maximum of 24 GB RAM), but i dont know wich freq to chose. I looked up into the processor tehnical data sheet, and it says it supports DDR3 1066..
The questions is, if i`m buying memory`s with 1600+ Mhz freq , the processor will use only 1066 ? This difference of freq will affect my pc performance?

Thank.

My motherboard supports 1600+ MHz RAM . I was wondering if there is any problem in chosing RAM with higher freq then the max freq supported by the processor.

Well I'm thinking to buy a 1070, but if I want to upgrade the memory too, I should get the 1060 instead and I'm saving also some money for memorys
