- Hello Everyone,

So now that I have gotten my computer from Bestbuy, they are saying that because of some overclocking I did, the CPU is damaged. I had a Noctua NH-D14S cooler on an i5-4670k processor. I overclocked it to 4.4 or 4.2 (stable) from 3.4. I don't know if my CPU is damaged, but when I was overclocking it, my motherboard said that based on my cooler, my CPU would be fine, and that it was a stable overclock. They also said that my motherboard was not working. Any ideas?

- Thanks,
Daanyal

Well the guys there said that since they were not able to display my computer, which seems odd because even without putting in the OS, I was still able to see the BIOS panel very clearly. They also said that because I overclocked it to that speed, the CPU and the Motherboard are damaged. I don't know about this, especially since I was overclocking to that much even when I had my previous OS installed, and it worked perfectly fine. I just think that the main problem is that the "screen of death", but I honestly don't know what is going on. I even tried to install Windows 8.1, but they said that the same case applied to that, and that the computer was crashing. I have a feeling that I just need to reset to UEFI defaults on my motherboard, but I honestly don't know what to do. This computer is less than a year old, and everything seemed to be working perfectly fine until I tried to revert back to Windows 7 from 10.

USAFRet,

The computer that I had Windows 7 Ultimate on is the same PC I am talking about right now. After having Windows 7, I upgraded to the Technical Preview of 10, and now I tried to go back to Windows 7, and this is when things took a turn for the worst.
