After cloning my OS on to an Intel 730 240 GB SSD, with Intel's data migration software, it wont change from IDE to ASCHI in the bios.
What have I missed or done incorrectly?

What exactly does that mean?

Disable Hot Plug option for sata port, where drive is connected. It no longer will be considered removable.

When I changed it from IDE to ASCHI the SSD drive boots but as a virtual drive and is as slow as the sata 2 drive , even though I've got it plugged in to my sata 3. Both the HDD and the SSD are seen as removable drives after cloning. I'm confused and ignorant .
Admittedly my onboard battery is 7 years old.
