From the spec's you can do 2x4, 2x8 or up to 2x16 32gb max it only has 2 ram slots.

my cpu is Ryzen 5 1600. I didn't realize it only had 2 slots. i just need 2x8 ram that can fit with it.

Check you mobo memory qvl list.
But ryzen has issuse with only 1 stick would suggest 2 sticks.

I already have one stick so im upgrading to 16gb

If you can by in a pair.
Even though you can get the same as you have they wont be the same and may not perform and or cause issues.
The ryzens love samsung b dies.
Depending on your mobo updates a lot of ram issues have been ironed out.
