Motherboard size depends on your case. What case do you have?

Yes, an excellent build for the money. Slightly higher than the mentioned budget but if you have 60 pounds lying around that's the way to go. Another thing, I've heard PUBG is very ram hungry, so you might want to add another 4 or 8 gigs down the road.

Since overspending try to get a it better motherboard as well. Use the stock cooler for now,this would save money.

Something that struck me as rather obvious in this.....

You are on Win 7 SP1
That indicates to me a red flag, alone. Aside from that....

New generation equipment will likely be looking for the driver support that Win10 offers. I am not schooled on the whole of it, but understand that some new equipment won't even operate well/at all on Win 7 due to lack of driver support?

So, with what I am sure will be some great suggested equipment upgrades, are you also planning an OS update?

The statement above is accurate. We offer the same support for Ryzen 2 as we did with Ryzen 1 with regards to Windows 7. If it worked fine before, it should still work fine.
looked at his current choice of motherboard and it has windows 7 drivers.

Very nice. I would guess then that the reading I have seen on this only applies to Intel offerings, or at all?

His own list he made,so it seems he has more spending money,

@punkncat,

looked at some Z370 motherboards and W7 drivers are available ,but there are threads like these,
https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwigyNS25ffdAhXGGewKHfuPCskQFjAAegQIAxAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tomshardware.com%2Fanswers%2Fid-3689832%2Fproblems-installing-windows-z370-motherboard-coffee-lake-cpu.html&usg=AOvVaw3Z_r5fxZpDwg3pZqkfEG8G
but according to the vids in the next link are there work arounds,
https://www.google.nl/search?ei=K8y7W5j2Js_isAfLrrvICg&q=z370++windows+7&oq=z370++windows+7&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0j0i22i30k1l9.4551.8869.0.9263.10.5.0.5.5.0.54.241.5.5.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.10.256...0i67k1.0.bukxg8MXD64

Haven't tried myself so it's probably a thing that you just have to try out.

And that 240GB Kingston for $40 is what I would put in the 'substandard' bucket.

Does that Ryzen 2600 come with its own cooler? Yes.
Is the $30 Hyper 212 better? Doubtful.
Take that $30 and put it towards a better SSD.

IMO based on the info about the service pack he is on, I wouldn't consider 10 without activation to be a problem....

Using W10 unactivated is an option.

For parts and pending the same could he look at this,
