I need a monitor that represents its image without any distortion to the proportions in the horizontal and vertical axes. In other words, if I draw a circle or square, I need these figures to be precisely what I see on the screen. I've noticed my current (old) monitor stretches the image in the horizontal axis. I used to have a Sony screen that didn't do this, but that died. One of about 14" would be fine and I am happy to get one second-hand. Any advice? TIA..

Do you know how to find the native resolution your "draw" program such that you could set a custom resolution that either letterbox or sidebar the image to the proper proportion?

According to your video output device you should have a control panel where you can create a custom resolution such that your view is not skewed. Further, you may have to confirm that the monitor currently being used supports said.

Check that your computer's set output resolution matches the resolution of your monitor. It should be outputting at 1440 x 900, which is the native resolution of your monitor.

If you are using Windows 10 or 11, you can check this by right-clicking an empty space on your desktop, selecting Display settings, and then scrolling down to Display resolution.

For reference, here is your monitor's manual.
