My vexing situation began when I bought a new ssd Crucial 1TB. The main idea was that I was to clone my old dying (still dying) hdd onto it. It's recognized by windows and everything. But when I try to install certain programs to do a clone (I tried 3, got the same error for every single one of them). It came down to an error within windows that is iPersist 0x80070002 Error. I can't clone my old dying hdd to ssd because of this. I don't want a fresh install of windows either.

If your current drive is "dying", and you cannot install anything on it...your options are pretty limited.
Can you install any new application? What cloning tools did you try?

Is this dying HDD the OS drive or a secondary drive?
