Hello guys
I'm an architecture student. This September I'm going to start my second year in university and I need a good laptop for using in uni. Everyone is using mac books, but I'm not an apple fan so I need a MAC alternative. I have a powerful desktop at home but I still need something I can carry around, so it can't be heavy. Ultrabooks are not an option because they r not powerful enough. I also have a YouTube channel so I'll be doing some video editing too.

I did some research and these are my choices.
MSI GS60 Ghost - some people say it has issues with overheating and fan noise
Lenovo Y50
Asus N550jk
Asus Rog G550jk

I really like a recently announced Asus Rog GX500

If anyone knows something better please tell

Processor: I7
RAM: 8 GB or more
OS: Windows 8.1
Budget: £1000-£1500
Weight: Under 3 kg, closer to 2 kg
Country: UK

I have friends that I have recommended both the Lenovo Y50 and ASUS Gaming series notebooks (at least 3 people have purchased the Lenovo, and 2 have purchased the ASUS - including myself for my wife). They are both fast and perform well. With any gaming notebook, if you are utilizing high CPU/GPU cycles - the fans are going to be loud (too keep things cool).

I have never recommended the MSI line, nor do I know anyone that owns one.
