I'm new to pc gaming and I'm trying to outfit my current pc to a playable machine. I'm just completely overwhelmed by all the choices and my legacy hardware makes it even more confusing. What should I be aware of when looking for a compatible GPU? I have 6G RAM and play on a 1080 tv. I also need a PSU so recommendations are welcome.

you will need to figure out how much space there is in your case for a video card. how big video cards are. might also have to figure out if your case can house a standard psu. many prebuilts have irregular sized psus.
