I am in need of a new monitor. My budget is $350 MAX, but I would like to keep it under $300. I will be using the monitor for gaming and everyday use (e.g. Internet browsing, video watching, etc.). I would also like for it to be able to max out my Power Color Radeon HD7870. My specifications are as follows(Only the parts I think matter [When it comes to monitor selecting.]):

I5-2500K
Power Color Radeon HD7870
ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 Motherboard

My vote is for the Dell U2412M or HP ZR2440w. Both are e-IPS panels (aka 6 bit emulating 8 bit IPS panels, and they do it well). They're 1920x1200, which is preferable to 1080p for vertical content such as documents and web pages.

You could also get a korean 27" 2560x1440 panel for cheap ($350-400), which uses an LG panel. It has a large, happy following: http://www.overclock.net/t/1225919/yamakasi-catleap-monitor-club
