I need a new hard drive baddd

My hard drive is an ST31000524AS I'm pretty sure it's becoming a very old and bottleneck in my build
A background widows update causes bad stutter (Windows modular etc etc)
It causes bad stutter in-games for being super slow and what not

Whats a good hard 1tb hard drive to replace with.

Hi MurkieYT. Question is, what are you going to use the drive for? Storage or OS? Depending on the use then it is easier to determine what drive you need.

A drive does not become slower as it ages. It can get cluttered, though. Also, other processes running may be competing for access to the drive.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you cleared out temp files/folders, etc., and deleted stuff you no longer use? Also, when was the last time you defragmented the drive?

Not in awhile since I rewiped my hard drive which was about 2months ago and I haven't defragged @15% fragmented

ps. Ik hard drives don't slow as age just the reads and writes speed don't increase =C.

Hi MurkieYT. Based on your needs, take a look at our BarraCuda drives. Also, it would be a good idea to run Seatools software on you drive to discard any possible issues. Whichever manufacture you choose, we thank you for considering Seagate.
