I need a newer graphics card...

In our family we game a lot on Minecraft, Roblox, and Steam, and our current graphics card isn't cutting it. My computer info is:

Hello! How much do you want to spend? Because nowadays Minecraft is CPU heavy, so I would recommend to change the CPU. You're running integrated graphics, which is coming from the CPU. Honestly, there are a lot of ways to approach this. I'll start from easiest to hardest. 1- You could always buy a newer computer, don't worry, you can still keep your old data from your now PC. But that can come in maybe expensive. If your family doesn't play too intensive highly graphic games, you could spend around $500 fro a pre-built pc. 2- Buy a newer motherboard, then newer CPU (Processor) and GPU (Graphics). If you'd like me to recommend a not too spendy upgrade, I will. You might also have to buy a newer PSU (Power Supply). Just in case the Wattage you have now can't support the newer upgrade. 3- New build that you can do yourself, this is basically on par with 2, but it's a total new build.

Further detail, the reason why I want you to upgrade your CPU is because newer GPU's will be too fast. The CPU will slow down the GPU. This is called bottle knecking. The CPU is too slow for the possible newer GPU you'd get. And Minecraft, it's CPU heavy nowadays.

You could probably put GT 1030 low profile card in there. Anything better would require change of PSU also.

Upgrading these old HP small form factor OEM PCs is a minefield. It can be done (to an extent), but it's very hit and miss in terms of GPU compatibility and even RAM/CPU compatibility (unless you are careful). I'd honestly just buy or build a PC. Try the used market if you are on a budget.

Your CPU is certainly too weak. As mentioned above, it will probably bottleneck any GPU worth installing that is also compatible.

You could upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Quad Q9300, but that's still not really going to cut it for most recent games (including Minecraft).

Gaming with 4GB RAM is also hurting performance as well. You can add 4GB RAM for a total of 8GB though.

As for the GPU, you'll need something that is powered solely via the PCIe slot. That's because your SFF PC only has a bespoke 240W SFF PSU. It needs to be a single slot, low-profile half height card to fit in the case. Something like a GT 1030. But I can't say for sure if that is compatible with your motherboard/bios.
These OEM HP systems are a bit picky as to what they will work with.
