CPU: AMD fx 6300 six core
GPU: AMD from sapphire R9200,
Ram: 4 Kingston hyper fury 8gb
PSU: Rosewell atx 650 watt
Case: NZXT 3340 mid tower.

Price range up to $130.

thank you

you are not going to find any new stock for that old cpu at that budget. they don't make them anymore and have not for a very long time. anything new still sitting around will be massively expensive due to the very limited numbers available.

you're only chance is to look at ebay or other used shop and see what they have.

honestly you can get a new gen combo for not much more than that right now and be in much better shape. $250 or so can get you a new cpu/mobo/ram combo and you reuse the rest of the system.

something like this would be a good upgrade

you can reuse the rest of the system. the 270x is good enough for your needs right now but down the line if you save some you can upgrade the gpu as well. of course more money can net more system but this is more than ample for the games you like to play and anything else you wish to do.

if you really want to go nuts, for $30 more you can get the 5600 for that extra bit of performance but honestly it's not really needed.

Is only having 2 sticks of ram going to be ok? What motherboard do you think would be good with 4? If I get a motherboard with 4 ram slots. And 2 sticks of ram, Could I add the other 2 later? I understand it well cost more.

yah the number of sticks is not important as how much ram it is. if you have enough ram, then 2 or 4 sticks won't matter.

in server applications where lots and lots of ram is used by many different things at once, then those extra sticks makes a different. that's why they come with 8 or more ram slots!!

but for the home pc, you'll never utilize it to the point where it is needed.

2 sticks is easier on the memory controller, power delivery and overall ease of use for the home user. :)

i think you'll be much happier than a new mobo for that old 6300 :)

you will need to fresh install windows for the new hardware so start backing up data now so you'll be ready to blow it away once it's built. if you have win 10, then go ahead and link it to a MS account so you can reactivate later once you have done the new install.

Unfortunately my pc died before I was able to back up the most recent stuff. I do have a external hard drive for that. There is no way to recover the documents file, right? Or is it safe on the hard drive?

You WILL need to do a full wipe and reinstall.
It is mostly too late to try to move that data to an external. You need an OS of some sort, which means a working motherboard. Which means either a bootable something, or a fresh OS install.

Maybe this is the time to consider buying an SSD along with the new motherboard, and installing the fresh OS on that.

the data is safe on the hdd but it needs to be plugged into a working system to get to it.

you can plug it into a friend's pc to get to it and save it to an external drive. or buy a new drive to install the os to and then plug in that old drive once it is running to get to the data. sounds like you'll need a new drive either way so i'd recommend a new ssd for the OS. they are pretty cheap these days for a 500 gb drive and even 1 tb ssd's are below $100 these days. depends on your budget of course.

either way works though.

nice cheap quality m.2 drive

$45 for 500gb

I do have a SSD. I use it for my Steam games. If I install the OS on a SSD, what are the benefits to that? I understand that OS would be on it's own. But can you explain more please? I would like to do this the best way.

you don't really "need" a new gpu, unless you just want to upgrade it. it's working for you now and will for the time being.

but from prices i have seen the RX 6600 is an awesome choice at the moment. they have been around $250 or so and are the same as a 3060 which costs $150 more.

if you want to spend less, i'd have to look again as prices have changed recently and with sales are all over the place.

I have had on and off past issues with my monitor not posting. Has no signal. Then one day on boot up my keyboard lights flash on, but the keyboard won't work. This was on and off also. Everything else seemed fine. After lots of research, watching YouTube, ect. I tried everything I could find, with out spending $. Reseating, cleaning memory. Checking and changing cables, ect. All fans work.

This has been going on over the last year. Then my monitor stopped working all together. It was very old, 2008. After replacing it, same thing was happening. I pulled the cmos battery. Nothing changed. Replaced it. Nothing.

I got a new psu. Same thing. So, thanks with your help, I did the up grade. And nothing has changed still. So now I'm thinking it IS the GPU. The new monitor dose display it's logo and then gos into power saving mode with no signal.

Sigh😒

What do you think about these gpu's? XFX speedster QICK210 Radeon rd 6500xt for 179.99. Or the amd Radeon rx550 red dragon. 149.99. Both on amazon. Sorry for no direct link. I'm borrowing a tablet and I don't know how to do a link on.
