I am so SICK of cartridges, replacing them all the time, even when I don't
print. This latest purchase, an Epson, requires that you do not remove the
cartridges (like taking them out & sealing them while not in use), won't run
unless all 4 cartridges have ink & use all colors up even if you only print
black. Its bullshit, I am sick of it, & want a solution that WORKS that
doesn't cost me all this money!

Even if I don't use them, I got to buy more cartridges. These Epson's
somehow know that I refilled them, won't take a aftermarket cheap one
(recognizes that they are not Epson's) & always seem to be in need of a
cartridge. This is like having a subscriptions, pay pay pay pay.

STOP THE INSANITY! Are there any solutions out there?

Yes - it's known in these parts as 'buying a Canon'.

Canons

- Don't use chipped carts
- Use single ink tanks for more economical usage
- Don't 'underprint' (i.e. use colours for black)
- Cartridges can be stored (I use JetTec compatibles and they come with
handy clips which can be used to reseal a cartridge). I've stored cartridges
(both OEM and JetTec) for a couple of months, with no ill effects.

It sounds to me that you're using a twin-cartridge system (1 for black and
one for colour). With a single cartridge system (certainly with both Canons
I've had) printing will continue with one - or more - empty tanks.

Had you read here first, you could have saved yourself a lot of hassle.

Not only that, but the i560 (other models as well?) will run with just the
black installed! Try that on a Hempsum.

or perhaps you could make your own CIS system.
