I need a utility to access FAT16 in W10

I need a utility to access FAT16 in W10.

1. Micro SD card.
2. 4 two gig partitions.
3. Formatted with fat16.
4. I am running W10

I need a utility so I can move files onto the card for a sampler.

Try what it says here

Run command prompt as admin

Type diskpart

list disk (your disks will be listed. Look for the one you want to work with)

Select disk * (Replace * with the disk number you want to work with)

clean

create partition primary size=2048

format quick fs=fat

Thanks, I already formatted my disk in my Sampler.

Will diskpart make the drive available within W10?
I need to drag the folders into the drive,

I have USB and also SCSI on my sampler, with SCSI you cant really much with out being able to see FAT16 from the PC.

I dont know what it does. I've never used that command myself

it should be, that is in general terms, what you do when you tell windows to format a hard disk, but this way is done via console

why do you need fat 16 partitions, any specific device asking for that?

Kuzweil K2600, Synthesizer. Essentially a very specialized Dos computer running VAST synthesizer engine.
It creates and formats SCSI drives with Fat16, and partitions them within the synthesizers operating system,

When connected with SCSI I can see 4 dos partitions but I Cant access them, only in disk utility, acronis,
Also the synth has USB so I can remove the microSD card and plug into a USB reader. But it vanishes from W10 soon after its formatted to fat16.

And done via console will make it visible?

i was reading about a problem that windows 10 has with fat 16 partitions, marking them with a different option than previous windows versions

some users recomended to go back to windows 8 for this particular purpose, since windows 8 handles fat16 as other previous windows did

on some cases it is safer to use a linux livecd to handel te files, linux sometimes is more friendly with weird old partitions, fat 16 is a weird old partition now
