Hello,

I was having issues with my PC crashing randomly. It was getting very hot and I was able to solve that issue as shown here with a new CPU, fan, and fresh thermal paste: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/is-it-effective-to-replace-a-cpu.3744240/

However, my PC recently has started to crash again. All I see is a "stop code error" and a QR code which I can't scan because half of it is cut off at the bottom of the screen. This is the same error I got before I did the CPU replacement.

Does Windows 10 have any built in programs to determine the exact issue as to why my PC keeps crashing? Maybe a third party program?

I suspect my Motherboard but it is very cool currently at 38 degrees Celsius. Although, maybe motherboards still crash when cool?

Question: Please let me know of any program or software that can scan my PC and determine what is causing this issue. AND it would be great if the program also would create a log for me to identify what happened on my PC right before it crashed. That would help a lot so I know what to do next.

Thanks in advance!
Keith

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original, new, refurbished, used....)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

"Logs": You can use Reliability History and Event Viewer to look for Windows related errors. Clicking any given error event will provide more detailed information. Unfortunately, that information may or may not be helpful.

Reliability History is much more user friendly and uses a time line format that can prove very helpful.

Another place to look is in Update History: check for failed or problem updates.

Look for specific errors and error patterns.

Hello,

My PC is a LENOVO H50 Computer - 90BG003JUS. It was new around 2016.

Device name DESKTOP-Q4PTN2Q
Processor AMD A10-7800 Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G 3.50 GHz
Installed RAM 12.0 GB (10.9 GB usable)
Device ID 105ABA7E-0587-4C0C-BBF6-C8069D1A64CE
Product ID 00325-95991-39104-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I see no errors in Windows Updates at all in recent months. The Reliability History has a very generic description: "2022-03-01T10:32:16.648 Critical Windows Windows was not properly shut down", so it doesn't really say why just that it was not properly shut down.

I have attached an image of the Reliability History report from Windows 10.

Thanks,
Keith
