DAMN ... I should have posted this thread into Overclocking ((( i's sorry , I dont know how to move it now

I overclocked my 5820k today.. hit point of 4.5 ghz with 1.3v core voltage / 1.25 Cache voltage
I have h100i watercooler from corsair , my temps was 82c in 2 minutes
I think it will go beyond 90c if I will stess it more than 10min

I couldn't run CPU on 4.6ghz even with 1.4v (4.6ghz for my chip is just impossible I guess)
I would agree with 4.5ghz but temps are still high

I dont like it because I do rendering now and I want more performance(
first decision of mine is to change thermal paste inside CPU itself (delide CPU)

what do you think why I can't hit 4.6ghz ?

what cooler can you advice to me that will work way better than h100i, and will run 4.5ghz with 70-75 ?

Your chip may not run 4.6 no matter what you do.
All pieces of silicone are different. Some overclock very well and some not good at all.

Your voltage is too high.
You should be 1.25 volts or less for best overclocking.
Anything more and you hit a thermal wall.
Even if you lose 100-200 mhz your temps will be much better.

thanks for response
Noticed same thing ... No matter what it can't run 4.6
but I dont need that 4.5ghz would be more than nice
But I need Better Cooler than h100i
can you advice ?
