Yesterday I called my friend and asked him does he have 6GB of RAM Memory, because he pre-ordered CoD Ghosts. He said he had only 4GB like I do, but he said we will be able to run it because we both have a 2GB graphics card and those 2GB count as memory. Now he isn't a expert so I don't know if I should trust him. Please tell me if what he said is true. Thanks 😀

System memory and GPU memory are not the same thing and do NOT add up like that. If the program/game requires 6 GB system memory, you will both need to upgrade to more system RAM.
The video RAM doesn't count as the regular ram accessible to the CPU, etc . but i think 4gb of ram is already enough for most games nowadays if u did not opened many other software in background.

What's worse is if you both have 32bit copies of windows as (some of) the GPU ram will be subtracted from the 4GB total you have. Windows needs to know what your GPU has in memory so ~512MBs of ADDRESS SPACE will be used for that. Usually with a 32bit copy of windows you'll only have access of up to 3.2GBs. If Ghosts really does REQUIRE 6GBs of ram, you'll need to upgrade not only your RAM, but your windows as well.

If you run with IObit GameBooster, and have your page-file exclusively on SSD(s) then it might be OK with 4GB RAM.

If you have 4GB RAM and a HDD, a 32-bit OS, and/or the game actually does require physical memory then you'll need to bump up your RAM.

Considering we've had 64-bit OS's for consumers since ~2003 and RAM is dirt cheap this is long overdue IMHO.

Agreed. If they are using 32bit windows and 4GBs of ram, then they might need a bigger/better computer overall. I don't know the system requirements, but I'm guessing you'd need a quad core, 8GBs of ram, and a 7850/7950. If you are still on P4s or C2D with GTS250/450s then you need more help then just upping the RAM.
