im planning on building a gaming pc this summer, it will be my first build and i need someone to review it before i buy the parts. im trying to keep the build around $600

CPU:AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
CPU COOLER:cooler master 212 evo
MOTHERBOARD:gigabyte ga-970a-ud3p
MEMORY:Corsair Vengance 16gb (2x8gb)
GPU:EVGA geforce gtx 750ti 2gb FTW
CASE:Corsair spec-03 red
PSU:Corsair CX430

i already have a harddrive with win7 pro

I'm not experienced and quite frankly am very new and don't know much about PC building. But one think I do know is that GPU 750 TI is good but not great.
I have a GTX 770 with FX 8320 and Ill tell you it works wonderful. If you are in a budget, I suggest you go for a R9 270 and if you can do more then %150 go for R9 280 or GTX 760.

Help answer my post. Thanks.

You'll need to reinstall Windows with the new build. If you do not have the original Windows media install disc, then you will need to go out and buy Windows 8.1. Or install Linux / SteamOS.

i know the fx8350 is old but i would also like to use my pc for editing, if you know of a better cpu build for the same price that would be awesome, and if the gtx750ti isnt good enough for budget which one is? ive also watched alot of youtube videos of austin evans, linustechtips and others and in some of their builds they use the cx430, what psu is a good replacement for the same price? thanks for replying

my friends uncle works on PC's and has some gpus i can use im still waiting for the list but il update you on that. You have the fx8320, have you had any problems with gaming or video editing? Because ive read reviews that the fx8350 is not consistant with frame rate and things like that.

i have looked at this build and i changed it a little bit to fit my needs, i would like you to see my changes and male some notes on them please. i know someone who can give me an optical drive, and im using this pc for video editing so i would like more ram. also is the intel i5-4460 better than the fx-8350 at gaming AND video editing because im using this pc for both, thank you for responding! Heres the build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/awsmnss1dr/saved/#view=DQVH99

is the EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR a good replacement?

That EVGA is barely better. Just go with the $49 XFX 550w Pro Series.

It's hard to get the optimal CPU for gaming and video editing within your budget. While the FX-8350 will do better in video editing due to the number of cores, it does not fare much better in gaming than an i5-4460. If I could squeeze in an i7-4790, then the build will need to cut back on the GPU and eliminate the SSD. It will still go over the budget, though. A Xeon E3-1231 V3 will keep the build around $600.

This is almost exactly what I went with, but decided that the difference between the 750ti and 280 was much greater than the difference between the 4590 and 1231v3

This build should be a bit more balanced for video editing and gaming. You may need to stretch the budget a bit, though.

Its great, just learned to overclock and frames are way better. From my understanding. FX 8320 is 3.5GHz with turbo up to 4.0GHz. When ever I played games with CPU demanding like Dayz SA or Planetside 2. I was getting good fps for the most part but when i would run into a massive fight on Planetside 2 or enter a big city in Dayz SA my frames would go crazy from 50 to 15 fps. Until I disabled Turbo and overclocked to 4.0GHz my frames became more stable. Dont know why but I've read other with same experience.
