When you connect it via USB, does the system not find a driver automatically? Actually it probably won't. According to this site:- http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=LEXMARK_X7170&page=product&locale=en&userlocale=EN_UK#1
The most recent Windows OS which supported that printer was Vista which went out the window in 2009.
