Dear THers,

With your help I had built a PC almost 10 years ago and it still going strong.

Current System:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz 2.70 GHz
Motherboard: Intel DB85FL - 4th Gen
RAM: Installed RAM Corsair 12.0 GB
GPU: Zotac GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 64-bit

I usually play Cricket 23, Simulators but my boys (13 & 8) are going to play more powerful games like - FIFA 24, Minecaft, GTA5. He will be introduced to more games once I give him the Gaming PC he wants.

Can you guys share an ideal configuration for the same? Should I upgrade current one or just build a new one?

Budget: Rs.75,000 to Rs.1,00,000 including gaming chair, new keyboard mouse etc

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Looking at Flipkart something like this is about what you can get and it's previous gen tech although still capable,

flipkart pc
Lian Li ‎LANCOOL 215 Mid Tower Cabinet - Lian Li : Flipkart.com

Crucial CT1000P3SSD8 1000 GB Desktop, Laptop Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (P3 PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 2280) - Crucial : Flipkart.com

NVIDIA NVIDIA RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB LHR Graphics Card (rev. 2.0) GV-N3060Gaming OC-12GD 12 GB GDDR6 Graphics Card - nVIDIA : Flipkart.com

ADATA XPG SPECTRIX D50 DDR4 16 GB (Single Channel) PC (AX4U32008G16A-DT60) - ADATA : Flipkart.com
(says single channel but all info points at a dualchannel kit)

amd Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz Upto 4.4 GHz AM4 Socket 6 Cores 12 Threads Desktop Processor - amd : Flipkart.com

EVGA 220-GT-0850-YN SupernovaGT 850 Watts PSU - EVGA : Flipkart.com

ASRock B550 PG Riptide Motherboard - ASRock : Flipkart.com

not that much ram for todays pc, but it should do, there is this set which is 32gb with the same speed, but timings are just not great at 22-22-22,
Crucial Crucial DDR4 Pro DRAM DDR4 32 GB (Dual Channel) PC (CP2K16G4DFRA32A) - Crucial : Flipkart.com

you could use a cheaper motherboard to get a better cpu cooler in,but that would result in an m-atx board or an older chipset.

Think most parts are good quality, it is between ₹95.000 and ₹100.000 and didn't consider peripherals or let alone a gaming chair in this partslist . Might well be that Amazon.in has more choice.

Maybe gives an idea of what your budget can get for you.

I appreciate the efforts. Will check right away.

@Vic 40

The Rayzen processor you suggested looks good but the Motherboard might not be suitable/compatible with it as per one user. You and other TH experts might shed some light on it.

---

Do not buy motherboards greater then those based on the B450 chipset. This processor can only use PCie3.0 and not PCIe4.0 therefore motherboards based on B550 and above chipsets offer no performance improvements even at a higher price.

Having a board with pci e 4 shouldn’t matter, a cpu with only pci e 3 will hold you back a little but on the other hand if you swap CPUs later then you’d have the extra capability. Though I don’t think for gaming that so far pci e 3 really holds things back, so by the time you are at that point you may be looking at a new pc anyway.
