I'm not having luck with this pc stuff. I'm trying my best to build a good workstation/gaming pc for at the most $1500, but I keep running into dead ends. I don't think my cpu is good enough for 3d render (blender, 3ds max, maya) or editing, but it's the lowest I'm willing to go (would it be better if I got a Xeon? I don't think I'll be overclocking). As for my gpu, I wasn't even able to put it into my budget since PCPartPicker hasn't updated the latest Nvidia cards yet. I want a GTX 970, but it's not available through this site yet.
I guess my question is that could any of you make a better rig that'll fit my budget (also with the GTX 970)? Here's what I got so far:
