I want to start recording minecraft in 1080p or 720p in 60fps. I want to have over 200 fps while recording because I have a 144hz monitor. I use high resolution packs and medium settings. I know minecraft is more of a CPU game but I want an overall decent pc. I can get more ram later on if needed. My budget is around $700 . If there is one that's good and cheaper, that will be great. No more than $850 Thanks

To lower price can go to i5 6500 and cheaper motherboard with no cpu cooler heatsink at expense of losing overclocking.

i personally like where this one is going. although you could also go back to the SPEC-01 case and the 249.99 gtx 1060 to save an extra $45 to put towards something else if you like

i believe minecraft does not use hyper threading so i7 would be kind of a waste of $

I know many will give me a hard time about recommending this (older CPU) but it will give you the extra hyper-threading of a i7 (streaming/editing) for much cheaper and will fit in a OS into your budget.

Besides this a i5-6500 & GTX 1060 6gb is a good choice.

i like the idea of the i7 for the same amount basically. not only are you getting hyper threading but you're getting an extra 200-400 mhz over the i5-6500. the only CPUs that don't come with a cooler are any ones with a K at the end of the model number.

I have yet to see evidence that i7 2mb of cache improving anything in games or streaming and if he gets nvidia video card there is no reason to use cpu for streaming just use the gpu its just hard to recommend cpu that costs +100 for marginal if any improvement.

well the cache has little to do with gaming performance. the extra clock speed and hyperthreading could help marginally in games. but either way i'd probably save the $100 and get an i5, then put that extra money towards a gtx 1070

Here is a great $700 build for your needs and purposes. Should play MC at at least 200 FPS at 1080p.

Building it yourself is much more recommended as you probably won't achieve your goal with a system builder and same budget.

Do I need a cooler for the CPU or am I fine without it?

The stock cooler that comes with the 6500 is more than sufficient for cooling it.
Go with the build I listed, gives the same performance as the i7 build with a better motherboard for much less.
