I am trying to help build a system for my buddy who isn't the most pc savvy person. I'm not the best either but I definitely know more than he does. This is what i have compiled so far, his spending limit is $1,300 CANADIAN. Please make any adjustments you think could be a better fit.
Keep in mind he already has a case, optical drive, operating system, monitor ect. everything that isn't here, he has and will reuse.

READ ME - he has a power supply he is going to reuse, i just listed this one just case he decides to upgrade, the power supply is not a necessity.

Solution
DDR 4 is becoming the new std fairly quickly, all new CPU's/motherboards will be based on it and at least buying into it now gives a chance that it can be used again on next upgrade. Only time I see the DDR3 as viable option is when people are using their current ram.
I just built for my son using 6700K and DDR4 3000 for that reason.

yes the cooler i picked was a bit excessive so i agree on 212, but the ddr4 ram and mobo isnt necessary, is there anything i get that is ddr3 but better?
