I need help changing displayport version

Hello, iˇm gonna repost this bec my last thread got deleted by mousemonkey for no reason at all. so recently i bought a Displayport 1.2 to dvi-d dual link cable and iˇm having trouble getting 144hz on my benq(xl2411z) monitor so i contacted my seller and he told me that i have to change my displayport versions so my question here is how and where can i change the versions

My graphics card: RX 480

Make sure the adapter is active like above, you wont get anywhere with displayport passive.
