Solution
I built a system for my son's friend with an ASUS Z170-A which was a decent board. It's not too outrageously priced and has most of the checkbox features that most users want.

The only suggestions I'd make is consider replacing the 970 with a R9 390 (unless you really like nVidia), and changing the EVGA supply to a G2 series rather than a G1. The 390 is priced similarly but it outperforms the 970 in most games. The G2 is just ever so slightly better quality and newer design. The G2 are made by Super Flower, the G1 is made by FSP.
seems you have quite a similar looking rig to mine, overall I love my gigabyte g1 gaming 7, but overall I havnt heard much bad about any of the mid to high end z170 boards. what is your budget looking like? do you plan on doing SLI in the future? also, is m.2 a future possibility as well?

Solution
well, base on your budget, and for now, also base on the color you want for your gaming rig
here have some good gaming motherboard!!!

MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON (the really good one, nice prize, nice color and feature)
MSI Z170A XPOWER GAMING Titanium edition (well, I believe this is the only silver color Z170 motherboard on the market right now)
MSI Z170A Krait GAMING ( this is a white / black motherboard, really good one price / performance )
