I don't know which cable connects to where on the psu.

They plug in where they plug in.

The 24-pin splits into the 18 and 10 pin connectors.

All of the 6-pins are the same. They're for SATA and PATA cables.

All of the 8-pins are the same. They're for EPS12V and PCIe.

Where's the confusion?
