Question I need Help! End of my tether with asus x58 motherboard BSOD...

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me any advice... (other than throwing the wretched thing out!)

I have an Asus Sabertooth x58 which was giving problems on Windows 7 with frequent BSOD's. Majority fall into the category of "IRQL not equal or less than".
I have been on a mission to get this fixed. So far I have;

Replaced the old HDD with an SSD
Upgraded to a fresh install of Win10
Upgraded the Bios to latest
Disabled the onboard NIC
Removed all other cards
Replaced the graphics card with a brand new board
Put brand new memory in and switched the DRAM positions to try different slots
Cleared the CMOS by using the jumper and by pulling the battery
Run "verifier" and BSOD view - the latter just points to ntoskrnl.exe.

Even with trying all of these fixes I still can't get rid of the BSOD

Can anyone else thing of a cause (other than a faulty motherboard?)

Really appreciate any help. I am trying to fix it for a friend and I know he doesn't have the money for a replacement so I am keen to get it working for him.

Can you list your full system's specs? Which BIOS version are you on at the moment? You might want to also see which version of Windows 10 you're currently on. Often times, your drivers being wonky can be the cause of BSOD's as well.

Also, you should source the drivers from Asus's support site, downloading them manually and then installing them in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

Make and model of the PSU as well as it's age will be necessary, when posting the specs.

CPU: Intel i7 920

Memory: 4gb stick of Crucial DDr3L 1600 B005LDLUW8 (brand new)

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT710 (brand new)

SSD: Crucial BX500 (brand new)

PSU: Bequiet powerzone 850w

OS: Clean install Win 10 (latest version)


The BSOD is occurring on the old Win 7 install and the new Win 10 install.
