I have Creative Sound Blaster X7 and would like to use it with my new Ryzen computer build. I use toslink for Dolby Digital processing on my PS4, and would like to do the same for my new computer.
Does it even matter for PC? Does game on PC even get Dolby Digital processing for 5.1 audio, or is it all software based or hardware based, like a sound card software like Sound Blaster. I know The Creative Sound Blaster X7 uses SBX studio, and I use that for the PS4, but if PC games do not use true surround sound processing, I would in theory have better sound with the PS4 then my new shinny PC build with better graphics and FPS. FYI I like the fake surround sound effect then true stereo only for games.
