My laptop specs are:

Intel core I5-8300h 2.30ghz (4ghz with turbo) quad
8gb 2666mHz DDR4
GTX1050 (not the TI model) with 4gb GDDR5.
6gb/s SATA HDD 1TB 5400RPM
Windows 10 (latest update i believe)
I Have tried the commandline.txt thing but no luck. I have tried a lot of different ways to fix the game...none worked. I see many people with not many problems with the same laptop with a GTX 1060 or very similar configuration. I have even tried fixes that were for devices like mine AND similar
I Have only got it to play properly once...by doing something that was a potential fix but I cannot remember what it was.

The game starts...but takes a while to load, now it won't even load as far as I know because I just tried it at least ten minutes prior to typing this. I waited and waited..then I pressed the windows button, then clicked on the game in taskbar, it looked as if it skipped to a blurry black and white Rockstar screen, which it probably did.

There has gotta be someone out there who actually has the same laptop or similar, and has truly the answer of how exactly...step by step...to fix Grand theft auto 4 on my Specific configuration.

If anyone knows any or all Of the things that can conflict with the game, such as software, the alt-tab out (I don't know for sure if that conflicts) apparently conflicts with the game, or anything that could possibly cause these immense loading times. If I missed specs let me know

bear with me..typing on terrible smartphone keyboard.

I had an issue with steam with a similar problem with a different game. I tried everything, reinstalling the game, wiping the games files, etc. the way that I’d recommend you fix your issue is to delete all the game’s files in %appdata% and reinstall, and if that doesn’t work reinstall your OS (how I fixed my issue)

Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck sadly

I am sad now XD........I've tried that too. No luck...was just a headache because my internet is pathetically slow (no fibre optic cables in my area😫)

Do you know any of the fixes for GTA IV? I am willing to try every one of them. It ran FLAWLESSLY smooth during the 15 minutes I spent playing it. I quit the game myself, I dont recall it crashing

So many possible things could have gone wrong, but wiping the individual game files and reinstalling again would by my only solution other than a reinstall.

Are you running it on a disc or download?

I have one last question to any who read this.

My laptop is a brand new acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 with 8gb 2666mhz ddr4, GeForce GTX 1050 4gb gddr5 (not the 1050Ti by the way) and 8th gen core i5-8300h turbo boosted to 4ghz. I know that you can overclock This card, I just need to know HOW?? I already have MSI afterburner, and a ton of system monitoring software...I have Hwinfo64, Rivatuner & afterburner set up for OSD. My laptop doesn't get that hot during heavy gaming, I also have a usb cooling pad with 4 fans

I am also looking for fixes for battlefield 4 and GTA IV, they both run wonky, but there are fixes to make them run better on win 10. Thanks in advance

Just the usual. -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 4096.0 -percentvidmem 100 -novblank
Yeah the most important would be -safemode to make sure there is no graphics setting that screws things up and -framelimit 30 ,your CPU is pretty powerful and running games too fast causes all kinds of problems so do this anyway, just for kicks.
-windowed can also be very helpful because you can run more monitoring progs and look at them while the game is running in the foreground.
Also windows 10 allows you to select which GPU will be used for which program so make sure gta is set to use the 1050.

is there any way someone can test my laptop configuration and figure out the nearest (doesnt need to be spot on, but this is my first time owning a notebook with a 4GB GTX1050, I am well aware of the dangers of fiddling with cpu/gpu stuff, I just ask that someone maybe try to figure this out. I have throttlestop, xtu, hwinfo64, OpenRSRCMonitor, msi AB.
I have a 4 fan cooling pad and nitro sense fan control built in. specs: ACER nitro 5 AN515-53 8GB 2666mHZ ddr4 5400rpm sata 6gb/s hdd core i5-8300h TURBO OFF

I am getting lim1 or lim2 or something in furmark gpu benchmark and I believe I exceeded the TDP a few times. I basically need to know kinda the range of numbers I need to stick within when I attempt to undervolt my cpu and gpu...both if possible. as long as they are values for the non Ti 1050, I will try them. THX in advance

anybody find out how to run gta iv on windows 10 yet? It currently has no issues loading, up until I apply the graphics settings...gets stuck at the 15 second count down to revert or whatever.
