I have built a budget PC before, Sapphire Hd 7770 with a pentium 860. 3.0GHz I had absolutely no problem. Of course I Didnt care much i just wanted to start playing but now I'm looking into a Triple Monitor display.

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($59.49 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X31 69.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($73.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($127.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 270X 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($198.98 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.98 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($49.99 @ NCIX US)

Ive Researched this constantly over and over again. I started out with an APU going all out then to an I5 to be safe.

But all the build were too expensive for me.

The question or questions i have are if i have a resolution of 5760 by 1080 will my CPU be an issue even if it is over clocked?

Also For 3 monitors should i go for a 2 GB 280x?

It is going to be general gaming. Dirt 3, Grid 2/Autosport, Sim Racing, WoW,
For those games i wan to max out the settings.

with decent frame rates and for the heavy games i would only use the one monitor because obviously my components wont handle it very well.

This turned out to be a very long post sorry but I will appreciate the help! Thanks

The APU is kind of sub par when it comes to CPU performance. Hell for a triple monitor setup I would strongly suggest and Intel I5 based system or at the very least an 8-core AMD alternative.
Yes you can, but in not high resolution. Maybe the native 760p.
You cannot expect to play at higher resolution in tri monitor.

It will be a waste of money. I would recommend to use single monitor save your money and buy a higher end CPU and GPU.

On the other hand your gameplay will suck and you will be a loser.

I agree with guanyu210379.

No point in going 3 monitor unless you have the money for it, alternatively you can work toward that kind of setup, but you are looking at a 1200$ MINIMUM build for that sort of thing.

I can hyelp you balance out your build, but tell me your budget.

@iamlegend, please refrain from calling people out like that.

going with tri monitor is expensive, most of us don't even have it.

you need a very good build to be able to have a decent setup for that. my advise, improve your setup, target >60fps in a single monitor. or save up and go for triple monitor, but you need a much better rig for that

Thankfully i asked before i just went out and bought it,

I'll start off at $600-800 (not including OS or Monitor) i have a cheap 19'' for now
what would be a good place to start?
Down the line ill upgrade bits and pieces.

Not the GTX970, but this provides you with a powerful platform from which to get 1 or even 2 GTX970s for tipple monitor gaming.

The build above is not bad, you can use it for reference.
Since you are planing to go for 3 monitors, which mean SLI/XFire.
You must get a Z97 mobo .e.g. like the build above.

I would also no go cheap with the proc like taking either i5 4690k or 4790k.
i5 4690k is already good if you do not want to spend much for an i7.
Just do not forget to get a good after market proc fan if you wanna OC.

The best buy GPU right now in my opinion is the GTX970 but cost double than an R9 280. You might want to crank up your budget to get a gtx970, not a must tho'.

i see no logic here. You buy a 130 usd mobo to put a cheap crap dual core on it. While the CPU will not affect your ability to use 3 monitors, it will however seriously hinder multitasking. And your gaming experience will be seriously bad on games that require more than 2 cores. You did everything about right except for choosing a crap cpu just cuz its intel. Why not just go for an fx 6300 or an x4 750k and have worries about multitasking and gaming?

Also do not forget to check that the GPU you are buying has 2 display outs in addition to your HDMI or you will not be able to use eyefinity or surround view.

@Novuake What are your thoughts about an A10-7850 k? I can use the APU's graphics while i save up for a 970

@lascar honestly i guess i didnt pay attention to that i had a 2gb 270x and switched it without thinking to 4gb for the more ram..
instead of a fx 6300 what about an A10-7850k?

No matter what others say for the price it is a good investment if you dnt have the gpu to currently play. Yes it will do almost anything you need it to do until you get your gtx 970 and even then when you put it on it.

So yes if you plan to go towards a gtx 970, the APU will do and you will still be able to play at high details and 1080p without any problem.

His budget probably does not allow for such immediate investment, his build suggests a dual core which would indicate that such is the case. The iGPU in the APU in this case would be a better investment since he will be saving for a gtx 970.

fair enough. 😀 however if he is aiming for a gtx 970 that'll have t change a bit to fit his budget.
