Hello!
I got my son an Asus P5G41-M SI/DVI motherboard for christmas with four memory slots so he can have 8gb RAM instead of 4.
On the ASUS website it says the motherboard supports up to 8gb of RAM.
But the one I got doesn't work if the RAM is more than 4gb. I got 4, 2gb Hynix HYMP125U64CP8 DDR2 memory modules. But the problem doesn't appear to be with the modules as I tested them individually. And I tried some other (Kingston) memory modules, but it still doesn't work with more than 4gb RAM.
I looked it up and apparently it might be due to some speed/latency settings.(tCL,tRAS,tRP etc.)
But that's beyond my expertise and I need help (I tried everything I could). Thank you in advance!
