I need help setting up a gtx 1030

I just bought a hex 1030 for a very old pc I installed it. When launching windows from the video output of the mother board it gives me a screed saying plug your video cable into grapics card and restart pc the only problem is the gtx 1030 does not have the current port that I am using and my monitor doesn't have an hdmi slot I tried to plug my hdmi into my television and the graphics card but that leaves me with no signal and when I plug my monitor and my tv in the monitor still returns with saying I must plug in the graphics card into the video cable and the tv still says no signal

What kind of plugs does your monitor have?

You can buy a DVI to HDMI cable, or , DisplayPort to HDMI....
