I need help to choose a new graphic card.

Hi !

Pretty simple i want to change my NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, i have a budget of 600€ maximum.

My current rig :

MB = Z370-A PRO
Proc = i7 8700
Alim = 680w
RAM = 16gb
2 screens 2560*1440 144hz

My own research currently make me look at the NVIDIA RTX 2070 around 550€, but i had a few questions:
- Why is there so much of a price difference between some of them with barely no technical upgrade, am i missing something?
- Will my alimentation be enough for a 2070?

I'm open to any suggestion, i would really like the point of view from other people.

I would try and find a good priced 1080 ti before all the stock runs out.

1080 ti are a bit expensive, are they really worth it compared to the 2070?

Don't get a baseline 2070 if you head that route. Invest in one with a better cooler and better power handling. I went with a Evga 2070 XC Ultra and that thing overclocks really well, and was just a little over $50 more than the baseline 2070 Black. Temps don't go over 55c with a 50% fan setting, and I'm running boosts of 2070mhz and a memory oc of 15ghz, versus the stock 14ghz. I'm sure it could do better if I really got into the nitty gritty.

I have a 1080ti which is on par with the 2080. I play at 2560x1440 and in PUBG i get about 100fps. Battlefield 5 has been running around 85 and Destiny 2 gets about 120. So if you’re going for 60 FPS I’d go for at least a 2070, 1080, or better. Higher than sixty you’ll need a 1080ti, 2080, or better.

As far as the price differences go that is because different aftermarket cards will have better coolers, higher clocks, and more “features”. Big names like ASUS, MSI, and EVGA tend to cost more than say zotac because they have higher marketshare and are regarded as “better” by most consumers, regardless if they are actually better or not.
