I have B450m-HDV R4.0 and ryzen 5 2600
I wanted to upgrade cpu to ryzen 5 5600 so I went to update the bios and found that on newest bios version a note "ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system." Funny thing is my current BIOS update is P3.70 which also have the same note but runs with no problem.
Should I update the bios or not because i really want this cpu.

Hi
The 5600x is a Vermeer so the warning should not apply.
I would say wait on the bios update till you are ready to drop the 5600x in.
So Update bios, shutdown remove/replace cpu then be sure to clear cmos before booting back up.
Just to make sure.
I clear CMOS by removing the battery and put back in, right?

Right but shorting Clr_CMOS pins on MB would do for that purpose and that way you don't have to reset date and time either. Do it with all power to MB off or it wouldn't reset. Easiest way is to press F5 or choose "Restore factory defaults" while in BIOS in Exit menu. It would do exact thing as shorting pins. Once you flash new BIOS it will be in that safe mode so you'll have to do other adjustments again. (XMP etc.) to fit new CPU.
