Hi, so basically I'm looking forward to slightly upgrading my 7 year old PC that's still solid for my gaming needs (I basically mostly play fps games on low settings and sometimes other games on medium, very rarely high).
Basically the main problem is, last year I upgraded from RX460 to now RX570 and I experience bottleneck and performance issues since 570 has been paired with my i5-6400. I honestly think CPU is a huge issue now and I wanna help my 570 by buying another one.

Now, I did some research and I think it's best to go with i7-7700k. My mobo is H110M Pro-D so I know I don't have overclocking abilities and I don't need overclock, I think that's best and max most compatible CPU for my motherboard and the best one of those compatible.
Need help by you guys tho, what do you think? Thanks.

i7-7700k or i7-7700 would be viable upgrade option (depending on price).
You motherboard may require BIOS update to support cpu upgrade.

Keep in mind - configuration of i7-7700 is 4cores/8threads.
For example i3 10100 has the same config.
It may be less expensive to upgrade to H410 board/ i3-10100 instead. These you can get new.
But for i7-7700/K you'd have to get used.

Thanks a lot for your opinion. If I was to go with i7-7700K and don't want it overclocked (not that it even can be), would this stock cooler from i5-6400 be enough or should I purchase a cooler as well? I've heard 7700k tends to heat quite easily.

I've never thought of upgrading a motherboard though that isn't an entierly bad idea. I would need one with same dimensions as H110M Pro D and the one that accepts my 2133 MHz RAM. MS Industrial Knight is the case.

No. Intel stock cooler for i5-6400 is a joke.
You'd have to upgrade to heatpipe type cooler.
Deepcool Gammaxx 400, Cooler Master Hyper 212 or similar.

The case seems to support mATX and ATX motherboards.
Basically any board except some ultra large E-ATX boards would fit into it.

Come to think of it, motherboard needs an upgrade. So I think I decided then.
Now I struggle on what would be the best CPU and motherboard for RX570.
Definitely staying on Intel. I've seen recommendations like i7-9700, i5-9600K, even i7-10700KF for RX570 and I feel like give whatever goes best but its important that the CPU is by no chance too weak.
Then I also need somewhat decent enough motherboard.
