I recently bought all the parts for my new pc, and i finished building it like two days ago, however the graphic card that i bought on amazon was broken so I returned it, and i was wondering what would be the most suited gpu for my pc?

Okay so for my build; I have:
i7 7700k cpu
Msi x270 Gaming Pro Carbon M.B.
cooler master hyper 212 evo
kingstone hyper 8gb memory
western digital storage
evga 600w power supply.
optical drive and the case

In addition, the old gpu that i had was Msi GTX 1060. The problem with the gpu was when i plug the dvi cabel into my gpu and then into my tv. The screen would be all zoomed it, like totally zoomed in. However, when i unplug the 8 pin cables from gpu and plug the dvi cabel to M.B. it works fine, like the screen is normal and everything. I updated all the drivers and everything, however the problem remained the same. I took the gpu out and reinstalled to see if it fixes the problem; however, this time the system was not even taking the gpu, like i went on my pc info to check, but there was nothing, except the pc graphic card (not the gtx)

P.S: yes, i did plunged in the 8-pin pci-e cables into the GPU

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Just leave your comment below if you need to ask more about the build, thanks. :)

What is your budget, resolution and typical requirements? So looking for High/Ultra in 1080p for example?

You could always order another GTX 1060 and hope it doesn't give you issues this time, if not an RX 580 is a similar performing card and around the same price point. But i can help you pick a better card for your setup once you provide what you plan to use it for.

My budget is below 300 dollars. I need a decent gpu that can run any game on good fps. For instance, i play games on counsel(PS4) such as BF1, Star Wars battlefront, Tom Clancy the division, etc, and they all are games with high really graphics and sometime i feel like my counsel just don' display all these graphs not good enough. At last, I need gpu that can display any game at 1080 or higher.

thanks mate. I will keep your answer in mind before i make the finale decision. :)

If your budget is around 300 I would highly recommend a used gtx 980ti. You could get one on Craigslist or EBay for around 280 and the 980ti performs better than the 1060 overclocked a little bit. But most people never go used anymore for some reason so I would suggest going for something like the previous user said , a rx 580.

Have you looked into Nvidia's control panel? There might be a display setting that needs adjustment. Maybe for resolution, aspect ratio, or scaling. I would not get a new videocard without figuring out what the problem with the old videocard is first.

edit: Monitors can have plug and play functionality, which allows them to play nice with Windows and videocards. So such an adjustment might not be necessary with a monitor. A tv though, that's another thing. It might not be plug and play where the computer is concerned.
