i need help with knowing if this cpu and my motherboard is compatible

im planning on buying a cpu but i dont know whether the cpu i was going to buy is to advanced for the rest of my pc... i have been told there is no point in having a really good cpu if the rest of my pc cant keep up so can someone tell me would these two items work fine together... the rest of my pc is fine with my motherboard,

My mother board is a : msi 760gm-p23(fx)

A 6300 is the most I would put on that board

Its Ill equipped to handle any 8 core cpu's & the 8350 is certainly not worth that amount of money anyway
